Laurie Teator, Owner and Executive Director of Senior Lifestyle Solutions, may not have been in the caregiving business her whole life, but caring for others has always been a part of who she is as a person. In the late 80's, her husband Jim's parents needed help. His father had cancer and his mother was wheelchair bound. Laurie went right to work, finding them a new apartment that was closer and renovating their old house to be put up for sale. She found them a great caregiver and a doctor that was able to make house visits. In 2013, Laurie's father had a stroke. She volunteered to help her parents out while he recovered. She took them to doctor appointments, shopping, helped around the house, and so much more. It was a lot of work, but she loved every minute of it. Soon after, a friend in the neighborhood stated that she was needing help since her dementia was worsening. Laurie did not hesitate and jumped right in to help her with all of her needs. In that moment, she realized that her true passion was in caring for others.
From that passion, Senior Lifestyle Solutions was established in 2014. It started as a solo operation in Laurie's own dining room. Continued dedication and hard work led to outgrowing the dining room, and in 2019 SLS moved into its new office on Memorial Ct. Laurie's respect for her clients and caregivers is truly unmatched. Everyone she meets can see the light in her. All great things start from small beginnings, and this is just the beginning of this wonderful journey.
